I am a strong proponent of
Happy Moms have Happy Kids...

Here are some ways for mommy to be happy without having to run away to the convent for the weekend.

*Have your husband take the baby for a walk around the block...while noone is in the house..DO NOTHING, don't fold laundry, pay bills,  or return the 50 phone calls you missed while both you and baby were napping...do NOTHING

*  Nap while the baby naps - till they are at least 6 months old, just do it you'll be much happier to see them when they wake up.

*  If you're still carrying around that extra 10, 20 or 50 (yes 50 shove off...) make time for a once weekly pilates class, spinning class,  or yoga.  Check your local rec center, YMCA or phonebook for options.

*Even if your carrying around that extra baby pudge stash away a bag of Dove chocolate, let yourself have one a day and enjoy!

*Get a mani or mani/pedi.  Who cares that you shower 2x a week or only when you have to take the baby to the doctor, having cute toes will make you smile.

*Go out with your gals for a Saturday night, just dinner - wine - and no poop.  If that's too much (cost or energy wise) plan a movie and dessert night in for post bed time!
