Prenatal Care
One of the most important things you can do for your baby is to take care of yourself during your pregnancy.  Making sure that your baby is growing and healthy is your number one priority at this time. You may have to give up some of your vices for the little bundle of joy growing inside of you.

"I don't have any vices!"  Sure you don't.  The most obvious things to give up are smoking and drinking.  This is not to suggest that you smoke and drink, but if you do, it's time to stop.  You will have to be more cautious with your body.  It is recommended that you don't lift anything too heavy.  There is debate whether it is bad for you baby, but it is definately bad for your back so try and avoid it.  You will probably have to give up sky diving and rock climbing as well.  I know, it's hard.

When you discover that you are pregnant, head right over to your OB so you can be poked and prodded.  They will be doing all sorts of tests to insure that everything is ok with you and your baby.  Expect a lot of blood to be drawn and to pee in a cup often.

Next you will have to pump yourself full of pre-natal vitamins.  This will help your baby grow into a healthy fetus.  Prenatal care is more complicated than you think.  You really have to pay attention, not only what not to put into your body, but what to eat as well.

Stress can be a major factor in your baby's health. Excersising your body and relaxing your mind can be accomplished through prenatal yoga.  It might seem awkward at first, but it is well worth it.

Finally, have some fun planning for you baby.  This will lighten the stress and make it more fun.  Pick out baby names with the daddy, and if you know the sex, start choosing colors for the bedroom.
